Essential Requirements
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) with good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Willingness to work outdoors and undertake physical site-based activities in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime, including longer days, weekend work and occasional night shifts (paid overtime applies).
- Commitment to working safely and following health and safety procedures (PPE and training provided).
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Laboratory & Site Testing Technician to join our UKAS-accredited laboratory team. The successful candidate will carry out laboratory and site testing of concrete, aggregates, soils and bituminous materials, ensuring all testing and sampling activities are completed in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and quality procedures.

Key ResponsibilitiesTesting & Sampling
- Carry out laboratory and site testing of concrete, aggregates, soils and bituminous materials.
- Undertake sampling and testing activities in accordance with relevant specifications and procedures.
- Accurately record, document and report test results.
Client & Site Liaison
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors and visitors on-site and within the laboratory.
- Represent the company positively while working at customer sites.
Equipment & Quality Control
- Perform in-house calibration checks on laboratory equipment in accordance with the Quality Control Manual and calibration procedures.
- Assist in maintaining UKAS accreditation standards and laboratory quality systems.
- Report equipment issues or non-conformances to the Laboratory Manager.
Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment within the laboratory and on-site.
- Undertake laboratory cleaning and housekeeping duties as required.
- Follow all company health, safety and environmental procedures.

- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of environments.

Working Hours
- Standard working week of 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility is required to meet operational demands, including:
- Occasional longer working days.
- Travel to customer sites.
- Occasional night work.
- Weekend working when required.
- Paid overtime is available for additional hours worked.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
