Full job description

Job Summary

The Lomond Branch Practice, Cardenden, are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionists to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment where attention to detail and excellent communication skills are highly valued. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a keen interest in healthcare administration.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable
Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling efficiently using practice management software
Answer incoming calls, respond to patient enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Maintain accurate patient records and update information as required
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry with precision
Process payments and insurance claims accurately during patient visits
Assist with the organisation of patient correspondence and documentation
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies

Requirements

Proven office experience, ideally within a healthcare or medical setting
Strong administrative skills with excellent organisational abilities
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure in a busy environment
Proficiency in using office software programmes such as MS Office or equivalent practice management systems
Previous experience in a customer-facing role is advantageous but not essential
A friendly demeanour with a genuine desire to assist patients effectively
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Pay: £13.34 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
