CST Training Ltd are looking to recruit an experienced and charismatic credit controller to ensure the cash owing from both consumers and businesses is received in a timely manner. The ideal candidate would be an excellent negotiator who has the ability to strike a rapport with even the toughest of customers. The ability to speak to a variety of people in varying dispositions is just one of the skills necessary to succeed in this role
Responsibilities for Credit Controller
- Notify debtors by statement, email, or telephone call of upcoming or outstanding invoices
- If applicable, negotiate payment terms with debtors
- Experience of using a CRM (HubSpot) to make notifications of interactions in relation to payments or consumer intentions
- Reply promptly to customer's questions and concerns either by phone or email
- Initiate legal action against debtors who evade or refuse repayment according to the terms and conditions
- Alert the Head of Resources of irreconcilable debts, as in the case of bankruptcy, to be written off
- Arrange for account statements to be forwarded to brokers and similar customers each month as a minimum, updating records when necessary
- Produce monthly reports of outstanding debts
- Liaise with sales, customer services and admin teams in relation to unpaid invoices and take appropriate action.
- If applicable, negotiate payment terms with debtors
- Alert the Head of Resources of irreconcilable debts, as in the case of bankruptcy, to be written off
- Tenacity in chasing every overdue payment and not to concentrate all efforts on a single invoice. Maintaining frequent and persistent contact with late payers and ensuring they are aware of the infringement.
- Commitment to continually learn new and innovative ways to maintain and improve current processes in their work.
- Understanding the importance of cash flow and an ability to disseminate any potential payment details/ delays to the management team
- The ability to build strong relationships internally and externally with customers
- Experience of credit checking a customer before agreeing to trade on credit terms

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish organisational goals and objectives
- Advanced technology skills, including data entry and internet research using a computer and a willingness to learn and implement new methods of working.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, especially a courteous yet firm speaking voice
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to constant and challenging deadlines
- Proven track record of negotiating payments and handling disputed charges
- Familiarity with computer software programs to analyse payment patterns and enter
- A desire to progress into a more senior finance role within the organisation. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the wider accounting function which the company would fully support with both internal and external training and development.
