Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Deputy Manager to lead our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. As the Nursery Deputy Manager, you will be responsible assisting leaders to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, ensuring their safety and well-being while fostering their development through engaging activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices in early childhood education.
- Support a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children's physical, emotional, and social development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns that may arise.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their curiosity and creativity through play-based learning experiences.
Experience
- Proven experience in a nursery or childcare setting is essential, with a strong understanding of early childhood education principles.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact with children, parents, and staff members professionally.
- A genuine passion for working with children and an ability to inspire others in their development journey.
- Experience in managing children's behaviour positively while promoting an inclusive atmosphere is highly desirable.
Qualifications and requirements
- Must hold an approved qualification of level 3 or above
- First Aid training
- Safeguarding training
- Should have at least two years’ experience of working in an early years setting
