ISM has a great opportunity for a security operative to join our team at Smurfit Westrock Yate. This is a permanent part time role, please bare this in mind when applying.
Working hours:
Friday 0600-1800 (12 hours per week)
We are looking for professional Security Officer and a Security support officer to join our team. You will be supporting the security operation on our site in Yate, working as a valued member of our on-site team. You will report to your Service Delivery Manager.
All applicants must hold a valid SIA License and be vetted through DBS.
Job Objectives & Responsibilities
To protect our customer’s property, staff and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site procedures.
Delivering results that meet the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.
To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
Main Duties
Administrate goods “in and out” using the latest software programs.
Produce reports
Conduct searches in accordance with operational procedures
Carry out active internal and external patrolling of the premises
Greet visitors and ensure relevant security procedures are carried out
Demonstrate Knowledge of security systems and their operation
Training
The successful candidate must hold a valid SIA license.
Fully paid training will be carried out with the successful candidate.
Modern technology will be used to achieve key work objectives and help develop job knowledge. Your security knowledge will be enhanced by supported continual professional development.
Security and Health & Safety
Look out for, and immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards.
Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss, or damage.
Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving appropriate others if a situation appears to become threatening.
To maintain a professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and when interacting with challenging customers.
Skills and Attributes required:
Fluent written and spoken English (Essential)
Hold basic computer skills – Further training and support will be provided
First Aid Qualified – Desirable but not essential as this can be provided for the right candidate
Ability to work as part of a team but also use own initiative
Be fit enough to respond to incidents and carry out patrols of the premises
