Are you looking to turn your jewellery training into a rewarding career?
Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery is looking for a Jewellery CAD, Casting & Workshop Trainee to join our talented team at our North Hertfordshire workshop.
As the UK's most award-winning bespoke jeweller, we create exceptional jewellery that celebrates our customers' stories. Every piece begins with our experienced jewellery designers before being brought to life by our CAD technicians and highly skilled goldsmiths.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has already gained a foundation in jewellery CAD, casting and workshop practices through a jewellery degree, apprenticeship or equivalent training. Working across our CAD, casting and workshop departments, you'll develop a broad range of technical skills while learning from experienced specialists in each area.
The role is expected to involve a combination of CAD, casting and workshop support, with approximately two days each week focused on CAD, two days supporting our casting department and one day assisting with basic workshop bench tasks. This may vary depending on business needs.
What you'll be doing
- Producing accurate, production-ready CAD models using MatrixGold from our designers' approved concepts and technical briefs.
- Preparing CAD files and 3D prints ready for casting and supporting the production workflow.
- Supporting our casting department with mould preparation, casting, processing castings and related manufacturing tasks.
- Assisting with the preparation and finishing of cast pieces ready for our goldsmiths.
- Supporting the workshop with basic bench tasks, including cleaning, polishing and preparing jewellery for the next stage of production.
- Working closely with our designers, CAD technicians and workshop team to ensure every piece meets our exceptional quality standards.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has completed, or is nearing completion of, a jewellery qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent training.
- Has practical experience of jewellery casting gained through a casting house, apprenticeship, university or jewellery course.
- Has received training in MatrixGold or another jewellery CAD software and has experience creating jewellery CAD models through education, an apprenticeship or previous work.
- Has a genuine interest in both CAD and jewellery manufacturing.
- Has excellent attention to detail, a positive attitude and enjoys learning new skills.
- Is organised, reliable and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
You don't need to be an experienced goldsmith. Our highly skilled workshop team will support you in developing your bench skills, while you continue to build your experience in CAD and casting.
If you're excited by the opportunity to develop your skills across CAD, casting and workshop practices while creating exceptional bespoke jewellery, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send your CV, cover letter and portfolio (if applicable) to [email protected].
