About the role
This is a highly varied role for a junior or mid-level IT professional working within the Tech Team at Victoria Forms. The team provides technical support to customers, sets up and maintains servers and systems, and supports development and troubleshooting across our in-house products.
The role combines customer-facing technical support with hands-on configuration, integration work and opportunities for software development.

We are looking for someone with a strong technical understanding of web technologies, with a detailed approach to their work.
This is a full-time office-based role, in an office in the centre of Bury St Edmunds.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with, or taking a lead in, implementation of technical form projects from customer sign-up to go-live, working alongside other teams.
- Supporting other teams as required (e.g. the Sales team with technical analysis of requirements).
- Setting up servers (Windows Server) and installing software (including our in-house applications).
- Configuring and developing integrations with external systems (including back-office systems, payment providers and address lookups).
- Becoming an expert in our complex in-house server and form-building products, in order to provide support and customise systems and workflows to customer requirements.
- Creating web pages to reproduce the look and feel of customer websites.
- Proactively dealing with support tickets from our support system.
- Proactively troubleshooting issues that are raised by our internal monitoring systems.
- Ensuring documentation is referred to for all tasks and updating it where necessary.
- Where suitable, contributing to the development of our in-house software.
- Reporting to the Tech Team Lead for all day-to-day tasks, taking on specific responsibilities over time.
- Undertaking other reasonable tasks as required.
Person Specification
Essential skills, experience and qualities:
- A strong understanding of how websites work, with some knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Strong IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- The ability to gain a detailed understanding of complex systems through reading documentation and experimentation.
- The capability to research new concepts and technologies in order to reach a deep understanding.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to talk to customers in a highly professional manner.
- Self-motivation and the ability to use initiative to pick up tasks and work without supervision.
- Happy to work in a small team.
- A strong attention to detail with a persistent desire for perfection.
- A good standard of written and spoken English.
Desirable skills, experience and qualities:
- An IT-related degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- A strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Experience of Microsoft Windows Server, SQL, ASP.NET, C#, XML, Angular, React, or Visual Basic.
