We are a midlands based company currently working out of Norton Canes, Cannock & Bury St Edmunds. Actively seeking a committed & motivated surveyor to work across our numerous gangs & contracts. Areas include East Anglia, Cheshire, Oxfordshire & more...

Main Purpose of Post:

To undertake the following activities within the company (but not restricted to):

· All aspects of pole surveying.

· Communicating with Openreach Customers.

· Communicating with Openreach Representatives.

· Liaising and meeting Local Authority representatives.

· Liaising with our office manager & directors

· Raising & addressing potential work stack issues.

· Responding to reactive works.

Principal Responsibilities:

· To comply with Health & Safety and Environmental procedures.

· Managing workstack, route planning & liaising with office

· To carry out any other duties as required to meet business needs, subject to appropriate training.

· Surveying 3rd party utility infrastructure for the placement of Telecoms equipment in an external environment or installation.

· Taking GPS measurements, digital images as appropriate, recording plant suitability and identifying risks.

· Owning, executing, and delivering survey requirements within a geographic region.

· Highlight and escalate major variances to the nominated desk-based planner.

· Dealing with amendments to allocated information.

· Ensure accurate completion of all survey submissions and work is completed on time with accuracy.

· Carry out any other duties (within or outside working hours) as and when required, to meet business needs subject to appropriate training and competency.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Attributes / Experience

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in Telecommunications / Surveying ( poling & copper)

· Skilled in the use of ICT including Microsoft Office software, internet and email.

· Ability to work under pressure and keep calm - essential.

· Good spoken and written communication skills – essential.

Knowledge

· Good Microsoft Office knowledge especially Excel and Word.

· Strong understanding of management systems and processes.

· Operational knowledge of the telecommunications sector (Preferred but not essential).

Qualifications & Training

· Full Driving License – essential.

· CSCS – Card (Preferred)

· Streetworks – Unit O1 *Required*

· IPAF 1(b) – desirable.

· S013 – Network Regulations Accreditations for Surveyors *Required*

· S017 – Asset Assurance for Pole Surveying – *Required*

· SA001 - Overhead Safety *Required*

· SA002 - Underground Safety or SA006 - Working Safely in Civils *Required*

· Abrasive wheels & Manual Handling.

· Excellent time keeping and attendance records.

· Good judgement and the ability to make firm decisions.
