Position Summary
Role Overview
The Analytical Products Manager is responsible for managing the sales, business development, and technical support activities related to the company’s gas and water analytical instrumentation product range. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, developing customer relationships, supporting technical solution sales, and expanding the company’s presence within industrial, environmental, utility, and process markets. The Analytical Products Manager has authority over assigned product line sales activities, technical sales support, customer account management, and commercial development initiatives within the limits approved by the Sales Director and company management.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Develop and implement sales strategies for gas and water analytical instrumentation products and solutions.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within industrial, water treatment, environmental, utility, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and process industry sectors.
Achieve sales targets, profitability objectives, and market growth goals.
Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline and business development plan.
Product & Technical Sales Management
Promote the company’s portfolio of analytical products including gas analysers, water quality analysers, sampling systems, and associated instrumentation.
Provide technical and commercial support to customers regarding product selection, applications, and system solutions.
Prepare technical proposals, quotations, specifications, and tender submissions.
Support solution development for customer-specific analytical applications.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, EPC contractors, distributors, and manufacturers.
Conduct customer visits, technical meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and professional service support.
Support long-term customer retention and account development activities.
Supplier & Product Line Management
Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers regarding pricing, technical support, product updates, and commercial agreements.
Maintain detailed knowledge of analytical product technologies, market developments, and competitor offerings.
Coordinate product training activities for internal teams and customers.
Support product launches and market introduction strategies.
Market Development & Industry Representation
Monitor market trends, environmental regulations, and industry developments relating to analytical instrumentation.
Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences, technical seminars, and industry events.
Support marketing activities including technical articles, promotional campaigns, and product presentations.
Identify opportunities for expansion into new markets and industries.
Operational & Commercial Coordination
Work closely with sales, engineering, operations, and service teams to ensure effective project execution and customer support.
Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and sales performance reporting.
Support order processing, technical documentation, and project coordination activities.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Required Experience
5+ years in similar roles
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of process instrumentation, specifically analytical equipment and industry automation.
Soft Skills
Strong experience in analytical instrumentation sales, technical sales, or process engineering environments.
Knowledge of gas analysis systems, water quality instrumentation, analytical measurement technologies, and industrial process applications.
Excellent technical, commercial, and customer relationship management skills.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Ability to interpret technical specifications and develop customer solutions.
Commercial awareness with strong sales and business development capabilities.
Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and technical sales tools.
Engineering or scientific qualification in instrumentation, chemistry, process engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry recognised qualifications at degree level. Level 4 NVQ or equiv.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £45,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
