Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Carer to provide high-quality care to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and elderly care. As a Carer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by offering support with daily activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Duties

Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
Assist clients with mobility and transfers to ensure their safety.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
Support individuals with dementia care through behaviour management techniques.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals regarding client progress and needs.
Document care provided and report any changes in client condition promptly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in dementia care, nursing homes, or assisted living environments is essential.
Knowledge of patient care techniques and first aid is essential.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy.
Certification in first aid and moving & handling is required. Other training certificates are desirable but we can provide online training.
Must be physically capable of performing the duties required of the role, including moving & handling.
