Full job description

Job Summary

BDI Securities Ltd is expanding its operations and looking to build an in-house international freight forwarding function. We are seeking an experienced Customs Clearance & Air Freight Specialist to lead and manage the end-to-end air export of banknotes and high-value currency from UK airports (Heathrow and Manchester) to destinations.
The successful candidate will not just execute shipments but help establish and lead BDI's internal freight forwarding capability from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end air export process for valuables
Prepare and submit all HMRC customs export declarations via the Customs Declaration Service (CDS)
Ensure full compliance with UK export regulations and destination country authorities
Manage airline bookings and coordinate secure cargo handling at Heathrow and Manchester airports
Maintain accurate chain of custody documentation throughout each shipment
Build, document and lead BDI's internal freight forwarding processes and procedures
Liaise with counterparts, handlers and regulatory bodies at both ends of each shipment
Proactively identify and resolve any compliance or operational issues
Qualifications( Preferred)
BIFA qualification
FIATA Diploma
IATA Cargo Agent accreditation (individual)
Experience & Skills
Minimum 3 years proven experience in customs clearance and air freight forwarding
Demonstrated experience handling banknotes, currency or high-value assets
Strong working knowledge of HMRC export regulations and CDS
Experience working with Heathrow and/or Manchester airports
Excellent documentation and compliance standards
Ability to work independently and build processes from scratch
Desirable:
Prior experience in a similar role dealing with valuables
Existing relationships with secure cargo handlers at Heathrow and Manchester
Please Note: The successful candidate will be subject to full background checks and security vetting as required by the nature of this role.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
