Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive, develop essential life skills, and achieve their individual care plans. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young lives while developing professional skills within a supportive organisation.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised care in accordance with each child's individual care plan, ensuring their emotional, behavioural, and physical needs are met.
Support children with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational pursuits.
Foster positive relationships through effective communication, active listening, and empathetic engagement.
Assist with behavioural management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Facilitate educational and social activities that encourage development and integration into the community.
Maintain accurate records of daily observations, incidents, and progress reports in line with organisational policies.
Drive children safely to appointments, activities, or outings using company vehicles where necessary.
Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support for each child.
Uphold health and safety standards at all times, including safeguarding procedures and risk assessments.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or in childcare environments is highly desirable.
Valid driving licence with the ability to drive organisational vehicles safely.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
Knowledge of child development principles and experience implementing care plans.
IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and completing documentation efficiently.
Compassionate attitude with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people.
Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required by the organisation’s rota system. This role offers an enriching environment for those passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives through dedicated support and care.
Experience with complex needs is desirable

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
