Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils from age 4 to 19, with special educational and complex needs to facilitate their academic and personal development. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in education and special needs support, contributing positively to the lives of children and young people.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in delivering lessons tailored to individual student needs, that provide an enabling and engaging educational experience for our pupils
Support pupils during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and engagement
Foster a supportive environment that encourages confidence, independence, and social skills development
Assist with behavioural management strategies in line with school policies
Help organise learning materials and resources for classroom activities
Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor progress and address any concerns
Work both indoors and out throughout the year, participate in physical activities and provide personal care.

Skills

Experience or interest in special education.
Strong communication skills to effectively support and motivate students
Ability to adapt different methods to meet diverse learning needs
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards children of varying abilities
Previous experience in working with children or adults with SEN is advantageous but not essential
Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently whilst maintaining a positive attitude
