Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bar Steward to join our private members club. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation behind the bar, ensuring a smooth and efficient service environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry, providing valuable experience in a dynamic setting. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a passion for customer service and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Ensure the bar area is kept clean, organised, and well-stocked at all times
Assist with the preparation of beverages and support bartenders during busy periods
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
Handle waste disposal and cleaning of glassware, utensils, and equipment
Support serving staff by ensuring supplies are ready for service
Contribute to a welcoming environment for guests by adhering to professional standards of behaviour and appearance
Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards or issues promptly

Qualifications

Previous experience in pub/club management is essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
Basic maths skills for handling stock counts and transactions
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with colleagues and guests
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
A responsible attitude towards serving alcohol and understanding of relevant licensing laws
Must be a Personal License Holder
Ideally Level 2 Food Hygiene Certification
