Summary
We are seeking a passionate and caring Teacher to join our after-school art club in Brighton and Hove. We are looking for a volunteer to join our team in the Summer term, on June 2nd 2026, and must be able to commit for 1 afternoon for two terms on Tuesday, from 3.00 to 5.00, at Stanford Infants and Stanford Junior School in Brighton, starting immediatly. Candidate must live locally, in Brighton or Hove.
The position would suit a person who values children, has experience in Art, is punctual and reliable, has initiative, and is not shy of hard work or getting messy!
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging art activities tailored to primary children.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages creativity.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new program ideas.
- Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and patience.
- Ability to adapt activities for children with diverse needs.
- Passion for the arts and creativity.
- Relevant qualifications in teaching or childcare are advantageous.
Maxine Allan, who founded the company in 2005, has 30 years of teaching experience. She holds a postgraduate degree in Art Therapy and is a practising Artist. She can provide DBS checks on request, invaluable teaching experience, and references. 75% of our volunteers go on to become teaching assistants in schools or secure a place on a PGCE course, thanks to the work experience and references they gain from volunteering with Artyfacts Art Academy.
