What you’ll be doing
As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities

Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing

Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.

Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.

Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.

Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.

Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)-
Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)

Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full Time)
Monday – Sunday, with one weekend day required. We are happy to consider alternating Saturdays and Sundays if preferred. Flexible daily start times are available to support commitments such as the school run in AM.

Located in the heart of Altrincham town centre, this thriving Boots Opticians practice serves an affluent patient demographic with a high average sale value, offering an excellent opportunity to utilise your dispensing expertise and build lasting patient relationships. The store has an established reputation within the local community and benefits from a loyal customer base. Opening hours are 9:00am–5:30pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00am–4:00pm on Sundays. The role is based on a full-time 37.5-hour contract, with one weekend day worked each week, although alternate Saturdays and Sundays can be considered. The team is committed to offering flexibility where possible, with later start times available to support work-life balance while maintaining excellent patient care throughout the day.
