Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Carpenter and Joiner to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and joinery, providing a solid foundation for a career in the building industry. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced tradespeople, assisting with a range of tasks across different restoration projects. This paid apprenticeship is ideal for individuals eager to develop practical skills and gain industry recognised qualifications.

Duties

Assist with fabrication and assembly of timber structures and components
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
Support the installation of roofing, joinery, and other carpentry elements on-site
Participate in construction painting, masonry, plumbing, and electrical tasks as directed
Perform heavy lifting to move materials and equipment around site
Assist with site preparation, clean-up, and organisation of materials
Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Contribute to the realisation of project specifications by supporting skilled tradespeople in their tasks

Qualifications

No prior experience necessary; a keen interest in carpentry and joinery is essential
Candidates are required to drive or have access to their own transport.
Basic understanding of construction or related trades is advantageous but not required
Ability to undertake heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
Physical fitness suitable for manual labour tasks across multiple sites
Valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential; willingness to travel to various sites required
