Lead HR Advisor (Central HR Team)

Trust-wide role | Full-time (37 hours) | NJC Scale 8

We’re looking for an experienced and confident Lead HR Advisor to join our Central HR Team, providing high-quality HR support across our schools. This is a key senior role where you’ll partner closely with Headteachers and senior leaders, leading on complex employee relations casework and ensuring consistent, compliant HR practice.

About the role

You will:

Lead on employee relations casework (disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and investigations)
Act as a trusted adviser to school leaders, offering practical, solution-focused HR guidance
Support hearings and act as Investigating Officer where required
Promote consistency, compliance and best practice across the Trust
Deliver HR training and contribute to workforce development and policy improvement
Build strong relationships with Headteachers and SLT, supporting effective people management

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

Has significant HR advisory experience, ideally in complex casework
Is CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent)
Has strong knowledge of employment law and ACAS guidance
Is confident, credible and able to influence senior stakeholders
Can manage a varied workload and make sound, fair decisions
