The Family department is experienced in assisting high net worth individuals in divorce matters with specialist divorce solicitors with expertise in domestic abuse, adoption, child abduction, prohibitive steps orders, specific issues orders, injunctions, spousal and child maintenance, properties, pensions and freezing injunctions.
We are seeking a talented and ambitious Family Law Caseworker / Paralegal (or an individual with a strong, active interest in developing a career in family mediation) to support the continued growth of our family and children law services.
This role offers the opportunity to assist with a varied caseload of child care and family law matters while actively contributing to the administration and expansion of the firm's family mediation practice. You will join a highly regarded team known for providing exceptional client service and achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
- Report directly to Department Director
- Professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of clients’ needs
- Assisting with casework including dealing with a range of Family matters (LAA Funded and Private client work) as well as undertaking your own advocacy
- Attending clients, taking instructions and preparing cases
- Dealing with correspondence
- Preparing and managing funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
- Preparing draft documents including witness statements and processing evidence
- Attending conferences and court
- Maintaining accurate time costing procedures
- Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly
- Ensuring compliance with file management.
- Family Law Paralegal or Caseworker experience with legal aid or private procedures, and an active interest in family mediation
- Demonstrate passion and legal experience in a broad range of Family Law matters
- A strong academic background with a Law degree
- Clear understanding and application of Family Laws
- Business acumen and the ability to market the Company
- Excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance
- Committed team player, self -motivated and professional
- Excellent IT Skills -familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills
