Do you have a passion for precision, craftsmanship, and hands-on workshop work? Looking for flexible, short-term work in a skilled and supportive team? Cutting Edge CNC is seeking a Workshop Technician on a temporary basis to cover staff absence, initially expected to be around one month, with the possibility of rolling weekly extensions depending on workload.
We specialise in producing high-quality birch ply furniture using advanced CNC routing technologies, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing methods.

What We Offer:
- Temporary role (likely to be ~1 month, rolling week-to-week )
- Hourly pay: £14–£16 per hour (depending on experience)
- Monday to Friday working hours (8:30am – 5:00pm)
- Supportive, team-oriented workshop environment
- Opportunity to gain experience with CNC-based furniture manufacturing
Your Role:
As a Workshop Technician, you’ll support day-to-day production, helping ensure components are finished, assembled, and prepared to a high standard. Your work will directly contribute to the quality of our finished products.
Main Responsibilities:
- Sanding, hand and spray finishing components to a high standard
- Simple assembly of furniture parts using hand tools
- Laminate and veneer pressing
- Preparing materials using workshop machinery (including panel saws where appropriate)
- Packaging finished goods for dispatch
- Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and organised
What We’re Looking For:
We’re open to a range of experience levels and will provide guidance where needed. The key is a practical mindset, reliability, and attention to detail.
Useful Skills (not all essential):
- Experience in sanding, finishing, or woodworking
- Basic furniture assembly or joinery skills
- Familiarity with laminating or veneering (desirable but not essential)
- Confidence using hand tools and workshop machinery safely
