Full job description

Eventus Legal Recruitment is seeking a Private Client Legal Assistant to join an Estate Administration team within a highly reputable regional law firm based in Orpington, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant with private client, probate, or estate administration experience to join a supportive and collaborative law firm offering genuine training and development opportunities. The role is fully office based in Orpington, Kent, with a salary of £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience, alongside a strong benefits package and long term career progression. Benefits include 23 days holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off and Christmas shutdown, over £1000 flexible benefits allowance, health checks, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, subsidised qualifications and study leave, and an annual bonus scheme.

Role Responsibilities

This Private Client Legal Assistant job in Orpington, Kent will support a busy Estate Administration department handling probate and trust administration matters. Responsibilities include:

Supporting fee earners with the day to day management of a large caseload
Handling new client enquiries professionally and efficiently
Organising initial client meetings and appointments
Liaising with clients, solicitors, and third parties regarding matter progression
Drafting legal documentation and routine correspondence
Updating and maintaining the case management system
Assisting with compliance procedures and file management
Closing files in line with firm procedures
Working closely with colleagues across specialist departments where required

Person Specification

Applications are welcomed from Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, or Paralegals with experience in Private Client law for this Legal Assistant role in Orpington, Kent. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Experience within private client, probate, wills and probate, or estate administration
Worked in a law firm as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or Paralegal
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Ability to manage competing priorities effectively
Excellent communication and client care skills
A positive, professional, and team focused approach
Confidence using case management systems and Microsoft Office
