Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated SEND 1:1 Nursery Practitioner to provide specialised support to a child with additional needs within a nurturing early years environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the individual child, implementing personalised care plans and educational activities to promote development and inclusion. This role offers an enriching opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young children's lives through tailored support and engaging learning experiences.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised care and educational support tailored to the child's individual needs, including speech support, behaviour management, or special education strategies.
Assist child with daily routines such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Implement specific programmes related to early childhood education, including literacy, numeracy, and physical development activities.
Use effective communication skills to foster positive interactions with children, parents, and team members.
Support child in developing social skills through mentoring and behaviour management techniques.
Collaborate with speech therapists, special education professionals, and other specialists to deliver consistent support plans.
Maintain accurate records of child's progress and any observations relevant to their development or wellbeing.
Ensure a safe and stimulating environment that encourages learning through play and exploration.
Uphold safeguarding policies and promote inclusive practices within the nursery setting.

Experience

Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings such as nurseries or preschools is essential.
Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) is desirable
Experience in delivering speech therapy activities or tutoring tailored to young children will be advantageous.
Familiarity with behaviour management techniques and child protection procedures is required.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with children who have diverse needs, including those requiring additional behavioural or developmental support.
Previous mentoring or childcare roles that demonstrate patience, empathy, and organisational skills are preferred. This role offers a rewarding opportunity for passionate individuals committed to supporting early childhood development within an inclusive environment.
