Waterman Cookery School is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic chef to lead cookery classes, demonstrations, corporate events and private experiences within our award-winning Cookery School.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef looking for a role that combines food, creativity and guest interaction, while stepping away from the pressures of a traditional restaurant kitchen.
As Cookery School Chef, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and enjoyable classes, sharing your knowledge and passion for food, and ensuring every guest leaves feeling inspired and confident.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver hands-on cookery classes and demonstrations
- Prepare and plan recipes, ingredients and class materials
- Engage confidently with guests, creating a fun and welcoming learning environment
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance throughout classes
- Assist in the development of new classes, menus and experiences
- Ensure all classes are delivered to the highest culinary and hospitality standards
- Manage ingredient ordering and stock control for classes
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Support corporate events, team-building experiences and private functions
- Act as an ambassador for Waterman Cookery School and the wider Waterman brand
What We're Looking For
- Previous professional chef experience is essential
- Passion for food and sharing knowledge with others
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Confident speaking in front of groups
- Organised, proactive and self-motivated
- Excellent food hygiene and kitchen management standards
- Ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Desirable
- Previous teaching, training or demonstration experience
- Experience delivering cookery classes or food events
- Experience creating recipes and class content
- Hospitality and customer-facing experience

Salary: Competitive and negotiable depending on experience.
