We’re looking for a Tax Advisor to join our specialist Rural Succession & Advisory team. This is an opportunity to move beyond pure compliance and build a long‑term career in thoughtful, high‑quality advisory work.
The Role
As part of our advisory team, you’ll support farming and rural clients with complex tax, succession and estate planning matters. You’ll work alongside experienced lead advisors, contributing technical insight, drafting advice and helping deliver solutions that are practical, commercial and rooted in integrity.
Our advisory work focuses primarily on:
- Succession planning
- Trust and inheritance tax planning
- Capital gains tax planning
- Land and property transactions
- Business restructuring
- This role would suit:
- A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) who has built strong technical foundations through tax compliance and/or accounts work and is now keen to move into a more advisory‑focused role, or
- A recently qualified Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), or someone working towards the CTA qualification.
How You’ll Contribute
You’ll play a key role in the technical delivery of advisory projects through:
Technical Support
- Undertaking technical tax research on complex matters
- Preparing tax computations and financial analysis to support advisory work
Advisory Delivery
- Drafting clear, well‑structured written advice for clients
- Supporting lead advisors in preparing recommendations
- Ensuring work is technically accurate and delivered on time
- Assisting in implementing agreed planning strategies
Client Communication
- Building meaningful relationships with farming and rural clients
- Communicating complex tax matters clearly and professionally
- Attending client meetings alongside senior advisors
- Delivering consistently high levels of client service
Internal Collaboration
- Working closely with tax, accounts and other specialist teams across the business
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, clients and external professional advisers
- Supporting the delivery of multiple client projects at the same time
Developing Junior Talent
- Supporting and develop junior colleagues progressing towards advisory roles
- Sharing technical knowledge and best practice across the wider team---
Skills & Experience
Essential
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent), or recently CTA qualified / working towards CTA
- Experience in tax compliance, accounts preparation, or both
- Strong technical and analytical capability
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Well organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
- High attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience working with farming or rural clients
- Exposure to inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts or succession planning
- Previous advisory experience
- Knowledge of land and property transactions

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
