JOB DESCRIPTION:
GoodTread Tyre & Autocare is looking for an experienced and reliable Motor Mechanic/ Vehicle Technician to join our busy workshop team following the upcoming retirement of a long-serving member of staff.
This is a varied role working on a wide range of vehicles, carrying out MOT Testing, servicing, repairs, diagnostics, maintenance and MOT preparation work to a high standard.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well as part of a team, and can provide excellent service to our customers
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out MOT testing in line with DVSA standards
- Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standard
- Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment
- Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspection
- Road testing vehicles to check repairs where requried
- Complete job cards and workshop paperwork accurately
- Maintain workshop equipment and tools responsibly
- Work safely and follow company health & safety procedures
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone who has:
- Current MOT Tester qualification
- Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
- Previous workshop experience within the motor trade
- Good mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer awareness
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach
- A full driving licence
WORKING WEEK
40 hours per week plus alternate Saturdays
Monday – Friday: 8.30am-5.00pm
Alternate Saturdays: 8.30am-3.00pm
Some overtime may occasionally be requested but would be agreed in advance.
SALARY & BENEFITS
- £35,000-£42,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
