Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Powder Coater to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various metal components, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets company standards. Duties
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or masking prior to coating application
- Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens, following safety procedures
- Apply powder coatings evenly onto components using hand tools and power tools
- Monitor curing times and temperatures to ensure optimal finish quality
- Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies and perform touch-ups as necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assist with loading and unloading materials within the warehouse or fabrication area
- Support other team members with assembly or fabrication tasks when required
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques are highly desirable
- Experience in fabrication, construction painting, or warehouse operations is advantageous
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during coating processes
- Prior experience with assembly or working with metal components is beneficial
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety standards at all times
- Strong organisational skills with an emphasis on quality control and attention to detail
- Previous experience using welding equipment or in similar manufacturing roles is a plus
