Location: Repton Prep School
Responsible to: Director of Facilities
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours of work: 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. There may be a requirement for occasional flexible working, including evenings and weekends, but this is rare and can be planned in advance.
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Job Introduction
Repton is seeking a Facilities and Health and Safety Manager to ensure that the Schools provision of first-class facilities are appropriately maintained and fit for use meeting all regulatory requirements. This role carries the responsibility for the management and delivery of maintenance and capital work on time and on budget in line with the School Strategic Vision and Plan. The successful post holder will be accountable for ensuring that all entities within Repton Preparatory remain statutory compliant for all PPMs.

Main Responsibilities
Estate and Facilities Management
- Manage approved contractors and oversee maintenance and repairs.
- Project manage renovations and estate developments.
Service Design and Delivery
- Ensure that clear plans are in place for a rolling program for preventative maintenance, including appropriate contracts as required.
- Provide facilities input into strategic planning processes (eg forecasting likely repair/replacement dates for key buildings, sports facilities etc).
Planned Preventative Maintenance
- To own and manage the relationship with the internal and external experts appointed by the school to conduct the necessary maintenance and testing in the following areas: Legionella; Asbestos; Electrical testing; gas safety, lifts, retractable seating, extraction, air condition etc. This list is indicative and not exhaustive.
- To plan, manage and monitor the delivery of work to ensure minimum disruption to the school, ensuring timely communication and consultation with stakeholders as necessary.
Health and Safety/Compliance
- Accountable for all compliance with all relevant legislation and inspection frameworks in respect of our buildings and facilities.
- Working with the Fire Manager to ensure that fire safety equipment is installed and maintained / checked and records kept in accordance with the regulations, including fire safety checks on doors, extinguishers, emergency lighting and signage.
Other
- Work closely with the Director of Facilities and assist with the running of the department.
- You will be expected to undertake all such other duties as the school may reasonably communicate from time to time either orally or in writing to you.

Relevant Prior Experience
- Experience in delivering facilities management over a single site.
- Experience in delivering project to quality, cost and time
- Excellent knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical building services

About Repton School
Repton is the ancient capital of Mercia, and the School, founded in 1557 from a bequest from Sir John Port of Etwall, was established on the site of a 7th century Anglo-Saxon Benedictine abbey and latterly a 12th century Augustinian priory and the School today incorporates many of the original buildings from the estate.
The School has over one thousand pupils across the Prep and Senior School, making it large enough to achieve excellence in and out of the classroom, yet small enough for individuals to grow and succeed.
