POSITION Room Lead
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our private nursery, now under new ownership and entering an exciting new chapter of development and growth we are currently looking to recruit for two qualified Room Leads, one for our 3-5 year old room and the other for our Baby Room. Set in a beautiful rural location within a welcoming community, the nursery is conveniently located just 30 minutes from Aberdeen and 15–20 minutes from both Aboyne and Banchory.
In this role, you will provide nurturing care, deliver engaging learning experiences, monitor and support children's development, work collaboratively with families and other professionals, and help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive nursery environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement for the benefit of the children and families we serve.

Qualifications and Training
Essential:
- HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 (formerly SVQ 3) or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7 or Equivalent practice qualification or past practice qualification as accepted by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
- SSSC Registration as a Practitioner without conditions within 3 months of taking up post
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of a high-quality early years curriculum that meets the individual needs of children and follows national and local guidelines.
- Observe, assess, record and report on children's learning, development and progress in line with nursery policies.
- Work closely with parents, carers and other professionals to support children's wellbeing and development while maintaining confidentiality.
- Contribute to children's assessments, progress reports and implementation of the Early Level Curriculum and Realising the Ambition.
- Participate fully in teamwork, preparing resources, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and contributing to team discussions including monthly staff meetings.
- Stay up to date with early years developments and engage in ongoing professional learning and mandatory training.
- Provide high-quality care that meets each child's individual needs, following the principles of GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child).
- Adhere to all relevant policies and regulations, including child protection, health and safety, inclusion, equal opportunities, data protection, and guidance from regulatory bodies.
- Build positive relationships with children and families, creating a welcoming environment and maintaining effective communication with parents and carers.
- Create stimulating indoor and outdoor learning experiences that promote children's social, emotional and problem-solving skills.
- Support children's daily care routines, including meals, snacks, hygiene, toileting and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Promote and support positive behaviour management and children's overall wellbeing.
Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
