Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual ideally a nurse/ social worker to work as a Deputy Manager in a CQC registered care home.

You will join our team in providing exceptional care within our care environment. The Deputy Manager will support the overall management of the care home, ensuring that all residents receive high-quality care and support tailored to their individual needs. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those living with mentaly health problems and other care needs.

Responsibilities

Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Develop and implement personalised care plans for residents, focusing on their unique requirements and preferences.
Supervise and support staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional development and teamwork.
Manage medication administration processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to prescribed guidelines.
Conduct regular assessments of residents’ needs, adjusting care plans as necessary to reflect changes in health or wellbeing.
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care services.
Maintain accurate records of resident care activities, incidents, and staff performance.
Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and compassion throughout the care home.

Skills

Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing teams within a care home setting.
Good IT, maths and English skills.
Strong understanding of mental health care principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Knowledge of medication administration protocols and best practices in a care home environment.
Ability to develop comprehensive care plans/ risk assessments that address both physical and emotional needs of residents.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and compliance documentation.
Empathy and compassion towards individuals requiring mental health care services.
