Bottled and Canned Ltd is a multi-million contract packer of drinks in cans. We supply all the major supermarkets and retailers across the UK and Europe across our four sites in Newton Abbot, Devon.
We are looking for a highly motivated, organised individual to work within our engineering team to maintain, improve and prevent all maintenance issues within our production sites. Using your intuition and natural abilities to review issues and come up with innovative solutions.
As our Engineering Technician, you will be an important part of the production process. You will have responsibility in ensuring the smooth running of machinery and making sure that production can be carried out in the most effective and efficient way.
Key role responsibilities;
· Maintain and ensure all equipment and machinery is in good working order
· Problem solving any issues with the equipment or machinery
· Fixing and replacing equipment as necessary
· Daily equipment and machinery checks
· Monthly equipment checks i.e, pressure tests, fluid levels, temperature probe calibration
· Deep cleaning and stripping of all equipment
· Training staff on all new equipment and machinery
· Supervising and supporting weekly overtime team
· Looking into ways to upscale equipment and machinery to improve efficiencies and speed up production
· Act as a role model and lead by example demonstrating core company values, behaviours, and high-performance standards
What we are looking for;
· Strong experience as an engineer within a fast moving, complex manufacturing, or logistics environment
· Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within Manufacturing, Production and Process environments
· Proven experience of working on fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves and PLC’s
· Relevant knowledge and experience in a similar FMCG role are desirable
· Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
· Good knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques
· Good communication skills
· Team building skills and strong ability to work cross functionally
Key skills and experience;
· Minimum 2 years in maintenance
· Manufacturing Industry experience
· Mechanical/electrical biased
