Full job description

Job Overview
Crew Grove Pub Co are seeking a friendly and professional Front of House / Bar / Restaurant team member to join our vibrant establishment, The Divers Arms in Babbacombe, Torquay. This role involves delivering exceptional guest experiences through attentive service, efficient food and beverage handling, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. All roles are paid, including internship positions.

Duties

Welcome guests warmly and ensure they feel comfortable from arrival to departure
Take orders accurately and serve food and beverages promptly
Handle cash and card transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and service stations
Assist with food preparation and presentation when required, adhering to food safety standards
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing honest recommendations
Ensure guest satisfaction by responding promptly to enquiries or concerns
Support bar service by preparing drinks as needed and maintaining stock levels
Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of food and beverages

Skills

Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is advantageous
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
Basic maths skills for handling payments accurately
Experience with serving, food presentation, and upselling techniques
Kitchen experience or culinary background is desirable but not essential
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as required
