Job title: Head of Care
Reporting to: Registered Manager
Hourly pay: £16.76
Contract: Full time - 35 hours per week
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated senior member of staff with experience of team leadership and support to join us as Head of Care at Erith House care home. As the Head of Care, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of care services within our organisation. This is a crucial role that requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the healthcare industry.
- Lead by example to inspire, motivate, and support the care team
- Develop and implement care strategies and policies to ensure high-quality services are provided to our clients
- Work closely with the Registered Manager to oversee care quality, staffing, compliance, and financial management
- Manage and supervise a team of care staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of care staff, conducting regular performance reviews and addressing any issues or concerns
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective coordination of care services
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to care services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, implementing changes as necessary to improve the quality of care provided
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
Requirements
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Confident in managing rotas, budgets, and staff development
- A safeguarding lead qualification at Level 2 (or willingness to complete)
- Proven experience in a team leadership role within the healthcare or social care sector
- In-depth knowledge of care regulations and standards
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organisational and time management abilities
- A compassionate and caring nature
