Assistant Store Manager – Retail, Events & Social Media

Location: Game District, Aberdeen
Job Type: Full-time (including evenings and weekends as required)

About Us

Game District is Aberdeen's destination for Trading Card Games (TCGs), tabletop gaming, technology, and gaming retail. We host regular tournaments, community events, and provide a welcoming environment for players of all levels. We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Assistant Store Manager to help lead our team, grow our community, and strengthen our online presence.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on position where no two days are the same. You'll assist with the day-to-day running of the store, support customers, organise events, manage stock, and help build our brand through social media and digital marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the daily management and operation of the store.
Deliver outstanding customer service and product knowledge.
Organise and support TCG tournaments, gaming events, and in-store activities.
Maintain store presentation and merchandising to a high standard.
Process sales, manage stock, and assist with inventory.
Create engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Plan and execute online marketing campaigns to promote products, events, and the Game District community.
Help grow our online audience and increase customer engagement.
Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and developing the business.

What We're Looking For

Essential

Confident, professional, and well-presented.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with retail systems.

Desirable (A Big Plus)

Knowledge of Trading Card Games such as Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, or similar.
Experience running or participating in TCG events and tournaments.
Experience with social media marketing and content creation.
Photography, video editing, or graphic design skills.
Experience using Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
Previous retail or supervisory experience.
