Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Drainage Supervisor / Pipelayer to oversee drainage projects and carry out pipelaying tasks on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising drainage operations, ensuring safety standards are met, and performing pipelaying work with precision. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in drainage systems, mechanical and electrical knowledge, and hands-on experience with various tools and machinery. Responsibilities
- Supervise drainage installation and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, ensuring safe and efficient handling during excavation and pipelaying processes.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised machinery to install, repair, or replace drainage pipes and systems.
- Conduct inspections of drainage sites to identify potential issues or hazards, implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Assist with the assembly, welding, and connection of piping components using appropriate techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks effectively and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functioning throughout the project duration.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues related to drainage systems or machinery.
- Utilise electrical experience where necessary for installing or repairing electrical components associated with drainage equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pipelaying, drainage installation, or related construction roles.
- Knowledge of excavation procedures and operation of excavators or similar heavy machinery.
- Proficiency in welding techniques relevant to drainage systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues promptly.
- Electrical experience is desirable for handling electrical components within drainage systems or equipment.
- Valid certification in operating heavy machinery (e.g., excavator licence) is preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and safety compliance.

Pay: £340.00-£400.00 per day
