We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roof sheeting and cladder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of building types. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction and related trades to develop their skills further within a professional environment.
Duties
- Installing new roofing systems using various materials such metal sheets
- Repairing and replacing damaged or worn roofing components to ensure structural integrity
- Reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings to execute projects accurately
- Operating power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently
- Fabricating custom components
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Assisting with heavy lifting and manoeuvring of roofing materials and equipment on-site
- Conducting inspections of completed work to verify quality standards are met
- Collaborating with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing or cladding
- Familiarity with schematics, welding techniques, and fabrication processes is advantageous
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for construction tasks
- Experience working at heights and in outdoor environments is essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to roofing activities is required
