Purpose:
As a key member of the Management Team, to support the Managing Director in directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibility for production, logistics, maintenance, safety, housekeeping, and other production-related activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safety: Promote a sense of self-responsibility for safety among team-members. Assure the safety of colleagues and safe use of the equipment. Support the safety processes and programs of the manufacturing Facility.
- Metrics: Supervise and Monitor site operating metrics. When applicable create actions to achieve the Facility’s goals and objectives.
- Operations: Support the continued growth of the Facility by developing operational capability and capacity through leveraging technologies and people.
- Culture: Create and consistently reinforce a customer-centered culture for the Facility.
- Customer Relationships: Build robust customer relationships through managing service to the customer and supporting the sales strategy in terms of new products and technical information.
- Capacity: Create, establish and manage the capacity of the operation to meet fluctuating customer demands and for growth of the Facility, ensuring optimal profitability.
- Technical Knowledge: Develop and continually expand technical knowledge of processes, and when necessary, problem solve for continuous improvement.
- Company Strategy: Create a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement, focused and data based.
- People: Build a high performing, skilled team to empower and ensure ownership of Facility objectives through selection, performance assessments, training and development of team-members.
- Quality: Optimize the production process to ensure that quality levels are always meet, and ideally exceed customer requirements and expectations
- Values: Model the Corporate Values and Principles, including promoting and implementing a high performance, people-driven culture, providing high expectations and a high level of support.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Computer Skills Literate in Microsoft Office. Ability to learn business information systems. Communication Skills Articulate, clear, persuasive in all communications with management and staff alike. Make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics. Production Experience: Industry Related Experience ideally from a Printing backround using a similar printing technology. Experienced in all areas of operation from Pre-production to post Production Continuous Improvement Working Knowledge of Lean Tools and Production Process Improvement Qualifications: Relevant Qualification in a Printing Discipline and/or associated production management qualifications. Mechanical Reasoning Ability to understand the mechanics of Production Equipment. Engineering experience desirable. Working Hours: The factory operates 24 hrs 7 days per week. Working Hours are a minimum of 40 hours per week, to be worked flexibly with core hours of attendance agreed by the Managing Director. Salary: Dependent upon experience.
