About the Role
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant (Purchase Ledger focus) to join our finance team on a 3-month temporary contract. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will support the day-to-day financial operations, with a strong emphasis on the purchase ledger function, while also assisting with wider accounting tasks.
This is an on-site role, working 37.5 hours p/w, Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase ledger invoices and ensure timely payments to suppliers
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors regarding queries and payments
- Process bank transactions and assist with reconciliations
- Respond to internal and external finance queries
- Identify process inefficiencies and support improvements
- Provide cover for sales ledger and banking tasks when needed
- Assist with stock control, including stock counts and reconciliations
- Support costing, BOM maintenance, and margin analysis
- Assist with production variance investigations
- Contribute to month-end finance processes
- Support ad hoc finance tasks and business improvement initiatives
About You
Essential:
- Studying towards AAT or early stages of CIMA/ACCA
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- High attention to detail
- Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts assistant role

Pay: £13.20-£15.00 per hour
