Overview
We are seeking an experienced Waiting Staff member to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional guest service and have a solid background in restaurant operations. Previous experience in food service and a good understanding of food safety standards are highly valued. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and efficiently take orders with accuracy and professionalism
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper handling of all food items
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required, supporting kitchen staff when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, service stations, and dining areas throughout shifts
- Manage guest requests promptly and courteously, resolving any issues to ensure satisfaction
- Handle payments accurately using the point-of-sale system, including processing cash and card transactions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations during busy periods
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to balance multiple tables efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant service, ideally within a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving techniques
- Experience with food preparation and basic kitchen procedures is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
- Excellent guest service skills, with a friendly and professional attitude
- Ability to upsell menu items tactfully to enhance guest experience and sales revenue
- Basic maths skills for handling payments accurately
- Previous culinary or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for hospitality coupled with a proactive approach to guest satisfaction
Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
