Overview
A growing UK manufacturer is looking for an Industrial Sewing Machinist to join its workshop team manufacturing bespoke industrial insulation jackets for valves, flanges and equipment used in industrial environments. This is heavy-duty industrial sewing, not fashion or clothing.
The role:
• Sewing multi-layer insulation jackets using industrial sewing machines
• Working with heavy fabrics, insulation materials, webbing, Velcro and bindings
• Working from templates, patterns and simple drawings
• Assembling jackets and covers to a high standard
• Checking your own work for quality and accuracy
• Working as part of a small workshop team
About you:
• Experience using a sewing machine in a work or production environment (clothing, upholstery, automotive trim, marine/canvas, soft furnishings, or similar)
• Confident using sewing machines and working accurately
• Comfortable working with thicker, tougher materials (or willing to learn)
• Good attention to detail and pride in quality work
• Experience in insulation jackets is not required , full training will be provided.
