The Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically minded Sales Engineer to join our growing engineering team. Working as a key member of our technical engineering team, you will provide technical advice and support on a broad range of engineering applications, including filtration and process systems. This position would suit a time-served or degree-qualified engineer looking to further develop their career technically and commercially.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Technical Sales team
- Contact suppliers for information and competitive quotations
- Produce detailed technical quotations and proposals
- Process sales orders using Sage 200
- Create, maintain and manage bills of materials (BOM’s)
- Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements
- Write technical visit reports and documentation
- Meet agreed targets, objectives and project timeframes
- Arrange and attend customer visits, engaging in technical discussions
About You
You will be a motivated individual with strong engineering and problem-solving skills together with a professional and positive attitude. Ideally, you will demonstrate:
- Engineering background (mechanical engineering preferred)
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
- A well-organised, self-motivated, and methodical approach
- Knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication, pipework, vessels, or engineering drawings would be advantageous
- Willingness to travel for customer visits when required
