About the team
The Integrated Passenger Transport Unit (IPTU) delivers essential transport services across Hertfordshire, including home to school transport and Adult Care Services. The team ensures passengers receive high-quality, efficient journeys. This role sits within a dynamic and responsive team that works closely with Children’s Services and Adult Care Services, transport providers, and other stakeholders. The Contracts Transport Planner will play a key role in shaping future service delivery and improving transport provision across the county.
About the role
As a Contracts Transport Planner, you will:

Manage transport contracts for special educational needs, mainstream home to school, short stay provision, children looked after, and day services.

Procure, manage, and review transport provision to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective travel.

Maintain and update database systems accurately, managing contract information.

Liaise with clients, transport providers, user groups, and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.

Deliver services in a sensitive and sympathetic manner, demonstrating resilience and professionalism.

Holds relevant qualifications or experience in transport planning or contract management
Desirable

A driving licence and access to a vehicle - you will have to travel across Hertfordshire to visit Schools and Operators.
