Full job description

Avonfield Kitchen is an award-winning and busy café based at The Nursery garden centre in Hilperton. Serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and a selection of daily specials and cakes; everything we offer is homemade and we have an outstanding reputation for our food, coffee, and customer service.

Having recently opened a second location in the heart of Trowbridge at The Old Town Hall we are currently expanding our team.

We are looking for an experienced Barista who can deliver great coffee in a fast-paced professional hospitality environment.

You must be reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking with the ability to produce drinks to a high standard at pace.

The key attributes we are looking for in this role are:

Understand the importance of attention to detail.
Have a genuine interest in coffee

Essential:

Previous and recent experience in a similar hospitality setting, ideally a busy café or restaurant, or coffee bar.
A good level of experience working on an espresso machine with the ability to consistently texture milk and create simple latte art patterns to a good standard.
Ability to produce drinks quickly and keep up with busy rushes during peak service

For the right candidate we can be flexible on the number of hours that we can offer. But ideally we are looking for candidates who are available to work around 28-40 hours over 3-5 shifts per week.

There are no evening or late shifts, and no split shifts. So this is a great opportunity to work in a professional hospitality environment whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

We (the business owners) are passionate about what we do and are heavily involved in all aspects of the business. You will be working alongside a fantastic team who are all friendly and welcoming, and you will have full support in the role.
