The Position:
The position is within the Product Development team based in Trowbridge, UK developing new tests for our novel and proprietary PoC Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) diagnostic platform, the binx io. Working within a team of scientists and engineers in an innovative and collaborative scientific environment, you will contribute to the creation and development of a range of applications and assays.
Working under the direction of a Senior Scientist, you will be screening reagents and assisting in the development of a highly multiplexed assay design.
Responsibilities:
Assist Senior Scientist in their work designing and developing PoC NAATs
Develop experimental plans and execute
Analyse experimental data and write reports
Reagent preparation & quantification for Product Development activities
Contribute to molecular biology laboratory maintenance and management
Maintenance of QMS records relating to the laboratory (e.g. cleaning records, pipette calibration records)
Follow and engage in the Quality Management System
Opportunity to learn and develop your skills within the medical diagnostic device Assay Development field
Education, Experience and Demonstrated Skills:
Biology/Chemistry-related BSc
At least two years’ related laboratory experience, ideally in development of molecular diagnostic tests
Experience of biological experimental techniques requiring high precision and skill, such as RT-PCR (not using automated devices), qPCR (not using automated devices), mammalian cell culture/transfection, aseptic technique.
