Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tire Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, with a focus on tyre fitting and repair. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a professional environment, providing essential services to our valued customers. The position involves working with various tools and equipment to ensure tyres are fitted, balanced, and maintained to the highest standards.

Duties

Remove and replace tyres on a variety of vehicles using appropriate hand and power tools
Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and defects, advising customers on necessary repairs or replacements
Balance tyres to ensure smooth operation and minimise vibrations during driving
Perform wheel alignments as required to optimise vehicle handling and tyre longevity
Conduct routine maintenance on tyre fitting equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency
Assist customers with tyre-related enquiries, providing excellent customer service and technical advice
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Heavy lifting of tyres and related equipment as part of daily responsibilities

Qualifications

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or tyre fitting preferred
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised tyre fitting equipment
Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and safety standards
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Prior experience in maintenance or automotive services is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
A valid driving licence is desirable but not mandatory
