Having recently completed a major kitchen refit with high-spec equipment, we are entering our most exciting phase. As our business evolves, we are seeking a dedicated, ambitious Chef to join our team. The Mission: Consistency & Creativity
For Sushea to grow, our Newquay kitchen must remain the "Master Template." We are looking for a chef who understands that consistency is the soul of a brand, but who also possesses the culinary spark to help us innovate.
- The Blueprint for Success: Every process must be definitive. You will ensure that every plate leaving the pass meets our "freshly made" ethos, maintaining immaculate quality even under high pressure.
- Off-Season Expansion & Specialty Nights: Excitingly, thanks to a recent redesign and increased seating capacity, we will now be opening through the off-season this year. To keep things fresh and engaging for our local community, we are launching exclusive specialty nights and unique events—giving you the perfect platform to showcase your skills and get creative.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality sushi and Asian fusion dishes to exact menu standards.
- Contribute creative ideas and execute dishes for our upcoming off-season specialty nights.
- Maintain a "Gold Standard" of consistency, ensuring the 100th plate is as perfect as the first.
- Manage daily kitchen workflows, ensuring strict adherence to inventory control and food safety.
- Foster a culture of mutual respect, consistency, and professional excellence in the kitchen.
Requirements
- Proven Experience: A strong, reliable background as a Chef or Cook (experience with sushi or Asian fusion is a massive plus, but a great work ethic and willingness to learn are vital).
- Ownership Mindset: Someone who takes personal pride in the kitchen’s success, cleanliness, and the equipment’s condition.
- Adaptability: Excited by the prospect of busy summer rushes as well as shaping a vibrant, event-driven off-season.
- Reliability: A track record of professional consistency and commitment in previous roles.
