IN-HOUSE BOOKKEEPER & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - Part-time

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Bookkeeper / Admin Assistant to join our small but busy admin team on a permanent basis. Working 22.5 hours per week (3 days), you will play a key role in keeping our day-to-day finances and administration running smoothly across both of our sites (also Goonhavern Garden Centre)- although your base will be at our Chacewater location.
Working alongside our existing admin assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate financial records, including purchase and sales ledgers
- Processing invoices, delivery notes, disputes, payments, and bank reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end reporting and financial summaries
- Handling general administrative duties to support the wider management team
- Liaising with suppliers and internal departments as required
- Covering bookkeeping responsibilities across both business sites
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- AAT Level 3 qualification minimum - this is a firm requirement
- Solid experience in bookkeeping and financial administration
- Confident working with Xero accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach
- A collaborative team player who can work effectively alongside our existing admin assistant and be able to delegate jobs to them
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Comfortable working across more than one site's financial records
Desirable:
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent higher qualification
- Experience in a retail or hospitality environment
- Familiarity with EPOS or stock management systems
