There is an exciting opportunity for a ward clerk to work within the Maternity Department.
We are looking for a bright and friendly person to join our team of ward clerks in the Maternity Services – working across the Antenatal, Postnatal, and Delivery Suite areas at Royal Cornwall Hospital. Previous clerical experience in the health service would be desirable.
You should be a calm, organised and well-motivated person with a positive, mature and flexible approach to your work. The post involves contact with the children and their families, so good communication skills are vital.
This role will include weekend and evening work, on a rotational basis.
Contribute to the effective running of the ward by concentrating on tasks which directly support administration systems and procedures.
Provide a reception service on the ward welcoming patients, visitors and staff and directing them to the appropriate area.
Receiving and dealing with queries both internally and externally to the
organisation.
Ensure that the quality of data being managed and processed is of a high standard on the hospital systems including Euroking and Badgernet as needed.
Perform clerical duties in connection with admission, management and discharge of patients and, accurate data collection and entry.
Co-ordinate, book and outcome outpatient clinics particular to each area.
