Vacancy – Test Engineer

Join Our Growing Team at Axium Process!

Are you passionate about science, engineering, and problem-solving? This is an exciting opportunity to join the Axium Process team as a Test Engineer, taking a leading role in the planning, execution, and delivery of pilot trials, process development activities, and membrane technology applications for customers across the UK and overseas.

At Axium Process, we specialise in hygienic process design, membrane filtration systems, CIP systems, and stainless-steel fabrications. We engineer innovative, efficient, and sustainable process solutions for industries including pharmaceutical, food & beverage, dairy, and chemicals.

With 71 employees operating from a 30,000 ft² manufacturing facility in Hendy Industrial Estate, Swansea, we are committed to becoming the number one provider in our market.

Reporting To

Projects & Business Development Director, or other designated senior manager.

About You – Knowledge & Experience

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with:

A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a scientific discipline (preferred).
Alternatively, candidates with relevant practical experience and strong science-based qualifications will be considered.
Experience working in a laboratory, pilot plant, process manufacturing, or engineering environment would be advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to gather, interpret, analyse, and present technical data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel throughout the UK and overseas to lead customer trials.
A valid driving licence is essential.

Your Role & Responsibilities

As a Test Engineer, you will:

Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of customer product trials.
Take ownership of trial programmes from initial planning through to completion, reporting, and recommendation.
Prepare, commission, and operate pilot plant equipment for membrane and process testing applications.
Lead pilot trials at both Axium Process facilities and customer sites throughout the UK and overseas.
Gather, validate, and analyse test data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Interpret trial results and prepare detailed technical reports, conclusions, and recommendations.
Present trial findings and technical recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.
Liaise directly with customers before, during, and after trials to ensure objectives are achieved and expectations are met.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory, pilot plant, and testing equipment.
Identify, investigate, and resolve equipment or process issues to ensure the integrity and accuracy of test results.
Lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of testing procedures, trial documentation, and departmental standards.
Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within testing activities, pilot plant operations, and trial methodologies.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping whilst conducting trials both on-site and at customer locations.

Friday: 08:15 – 15:30
