Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef by overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to develop leadership skills within a vibrant hospitality environment. The Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food production, and maintaining a smooth workflow in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including training and mentoring team members to ensure efficient service delivery
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency, presentation, and safety standards
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen efficiency
Support in the organisation of kitchen schedules, ensuring adequate staffing during service hours
Contribute to maintaining a positive working environment by fostering teamwork and professional development
Assist in serving customers when required, ensuring excellent hospitality standards are upheld

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar role
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
Extensive kitchen experience across various cuisines is preferred
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
