Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Manager to oversee the planning, organisation, and execution of catering services for a diverse range of events. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team, coordinate food production, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The Catering Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining the organisation’s reputation for excellence in catering services.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all aspects of catering operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and customise menus accordingly.
Manage a team of kitchen staff, servers, and support personnel to ensure smooth service delivery.
Oversee food safety compliance, including hygiene standards and allergen management.
Supervise food production processes to maintain quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Organise staffing schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to optimise team productivity.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and catering supplies.
Ensure all catering events are executed seamlessly from setup to breakdown.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant environment.
Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated team management skills.
Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
Leadership qualities that motivate and inspire staff towards delivering outstanding service.
Experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or event venues is highly desirable.
Proficiency in managing menus, stock control, and cost management.
Good communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and team members effectively.
A background in culinary arts or related training is advantageous; previous restaurant or barista experience is beneficial but not essential.
